Privacy Policy

Last updated: July 26, 2026

This policy covers both the Chessbrix mobile app (Android and iOS) and this website, chessbrix.com. The short version: the app does not collect personal data, and this website does not use cookies or analytics.

Who is responsible for your data

The controller responsible for any data described in this policy is the operator of Chessbrix. Full identity and postal contact details are published in the Legal Notice. For anything privacy-related, you can also reach us directly at support@chessbrix.com.

The app: no accounts, no personal data

Chessbrix does not ask you to create an account and does not collect, transmit, or store any personal data on our servers, because we do not operate any servers that the app talks to. Specifically:

Uninstalling the app removes this locally stored data from your device. We have no copy of it, because we never received one.

The website: no cookies, no analytics

This website does not set cookies, does not run any analytics or advertising script, and does not use any third-party embed. Pages are static files with no tracking code.

One honest technical note: like any website, chessbrix.com is served through hosting infrastructure (Cloudflare Pages), which necessarily processes your device's IP address and standard request metadata for the brief time needed to deliver the page to you and to keep the service secure and available. This is transient infrastructure-level processing, not something we collect, store, or use ourselves, and it does not identify you personally to us.

Payments

All subscription payments are handled entirely by Google Play or the Apple App Store, depending on which version of the app you use. We never see or store your payment details. Those purchases are governed by Google's and Apple's own privacy policies:

Support correspondence

If you email support@chessbrix.com, we process the contents of that email and your address only to respond to you, on the legal basis of our legitimate interest in providing support (Article 6(1)(f) GDPR) or, where your message relates to your subscription, to perform our contract with you (Article 6(1)(b) GDPR). We keep support correspondence only as long as needed to resolve your request and for a reasonable period afterward in case you follow up, then delete it.

Legal basis summary

Because the app itself collects no personal data, there is very little processing to have a legal basis for. The processing that does exist, support email correspondence and the transient hosting-level request handling described above, relies on Article 6(1)(b) (performance of a contract), Article 6(1)(f) (legitimate interest in running a support inbox and a functioning website), and, for the hosting provider's own security processing, its own legitimate interest.

Your rights

Under the GDPR, you have the right to request access to, rectification of, or erasure of your personal data, to restrict or object to certain processing, and to receive a copy of your data in a portable format. In practice, since your app data lives only on your own device, you already have full control over it: delete it in-app, or uninstall the app. For anything held in support correspondence, email support@chessbrix.com and we will act on your request.

Right to complain

If you believe your data has been processed unlawfully, you have the right to lodge a complaint with a data protection supervisory authority, in particular the authority of the country of your habitual residence, place of work, or the place of the alleged infringement. This right exists independently of any other administrative or judicial remedy.

Children

Chessbrix is a general-audience educational app and does not knowingly collect personal data from anyone, including children, because it does not collect personal data at all.

Changes to this policy

If this policy changes, we will update the "last updated" date above. Since the app has no account system, we cannot notify you individually, so please check back occasionally, especially before a major app update.
