Terms of Service

These terms govern your use of the Chessbrix app and this website. By downloading or using Chessbrix, you agree to these terms. If you do not agree, please do not use the app.

License to use the app

Chessbrix grants you a personal, non-exclusive, non-transferable, revocable license to install and use the app on devices you own or control, for your own private, non-commercial study of chess. You may not copy, decompile, resell, sublicense, or redistribute the app or its lesson and puzzle content outside of normal personal use.

Subscription and billing

Chessbrix offers a three-day free trial, after which access continues as a paid subscription billed at $4.99 per week, or the equivalent in your local currency as shown at checkout. Subscriptions are sold and billed entirely through Google Play or the Apple App Store, whichever store you downloaded the app from, and are subject to that store's own terms of service and payment terms in addition to these terms. We do not process payments ourselves and do not store your payment details.

Unless you cancel before the trial ends, the subscription begins automatically and renews on a recurring weekly basis until cancelled.

Cancellation

You can cancel at any time through your subscription settings in the store you subscribed through:

• Google Play: Open the Play Store app, go to Payments and subscriptions, find Chessbrix, and cancel.
• Apple App Store: Open Settings on your device, tap your name, then Subscriptions, find Chessbrix, and cancel.

Cancelling stops future billing but does not automatically refund the current billing period.

Refunds

Refunds are handled according to the policy of the store you subscribed through:

• Google Play: you can request a refund from Google directly through the Play Store, or contact us at support@chessbrix.com and we will point you to the right process.
• Apple App Store: Apple handles all App Store refunds directly. Request one at reportaproblem.apple.com.

Nothing in this section limits any statutory refund or withdrawal right you have as a consumer under the law of your country of residence.

Content and educational purpose

Chessbrix provides educational chess material: annotated endgame lessons and rated practice puzzles, drawing on long-established classical endgame theory. It is a study tool, not a guarantee of any particular outcome.

No warranty of results

We do not promise that using Chessbrix will raise your chess rating, win you games, or produce any specific result. Chess improvement depends on many factors outside the app, including how much you practice and how you play. The app is provided on an "as is" and "as available" basis, and to the extent permitted by law we disclaim warranties beyond those a statute requires. This does not affect any statutory rights you have as a consumer that cannot lawfully be excluded under the law of your country of residence.

Changes to the app and these terms

We may update the app's content and features over time, and may update these terms to reflect that. If we make a material change to these terms, we will update the "last updated" date above.

Governing law

These terms are governed by the laws of India, without regard to its conflict of law provisions, and the courts at Bengaluru, Karnataka shall have jurisdiction. If you are a consumer resident elsewhere, mandatory consumer protection provisions of your home country's law may also apply and are not affected by this clause.
